PORTRAIT

In harmony with his surname Guido covers the women with silver before capturing them by the snapshot. He signs them. Guido annihilates the taboo that surrounds her, he restores nudity to its original meaning.  Thus painted, the woman becomes a sculpture and Argentini's photographs are venerations. In pygmalion, he molds his models, he shapes them like a Rodin, or a Cortot but encased in metal. The reflection of his passion for sculpture and dance. Space freezes and spreads its invisible emanations on these lascivious bodies, to define and shape them. The space is geometric and clearly defined.

Guido was born in Florence in 1966. From the age of seventeen, he took photographs of his friends. Some will be published a few years later, after he had chosen between fashion and medicine. Discovered, he then worked for the greatest: Vogue, Playboy... There followed many round trips between Italy and the United States where Guido ended up settling. Since 1990 he has lived across the Atlantic, in Los Angeles.

His work has been published by some of the biggest magazines in the world and his work exhibited in the best galleries in Japan, USA, Ukraine, Russia and Europe. He first used his silver painting technique to cover the entire female body in Miami in 1995. A desire for abstraction led the artist to repaint with a metallic body, a dressing of steel, the body of his models. The result sparkles. The sublimated body becomes a mirror, where the lights of the decor are reflected. The skin is no more. All attention is focused on the face, and the body. For this work, Guido did not want familiar faces. Far from the supermodels he usually works with, these women are friends, models, of different ages and nationalities, they are all women of the world. There is no typical woman. The woman is universal and the spectator becomes a voyeur. At Guido, the style evolves and his vision of women varies. He constantly wants to find new visions of the world and therefore, of life and of women.
