Haris Nukem is a young portraitist who arrived in London from Bosnia as an asylum seeker. The artist uses this experience as the source of his creativity and his avant-garde vision which are showcased in his dystopian, dark yet always poetic works.

His provocative work tell colorful tales rooted within the complex and captivating social upheavals of our era. From social media to romantic trends, his photographs evoke the ideologies that surround our 21rst century century and Gen Z. Nukem creates a world full of life that reflects the different realities while underlining humanity’s overwhelming quest to understand its own existence.

Characterized by a dark and yet flamboyant style, his photographs explore the undying desire to believe in humanity. The models are represented in unusual environments and the photographer has a tendency to capture characters who project a strong aura of rebellion and stories. His characteristics: alternative styles, colored hair, tattoos and piercings, at the service of a dramatical use of contrast, where the troubling and fascinating stares of the models bewitch the spectator.
